This one goes well with my Anasazi Flute and Irish Traditional Music. I wanted an instrument that would go well with the pirate songs we’ve been doing lately. The concertina is not technically from the classic pirate period, but it’s a smallish instrument, suitable for life aboard a crowded ship, and it has a sound suitable for pirate songs and shipboard dances. Also, I didn’t pay too much for it, so if it gets destroyed or lost in a hurricane, I will be able to recover.
So far, I can play a C scale. I like the sound, but it will take a lot of practice. I usually play string instruments, such as guitar or mandolin. This will be a change, but a pleasant one, I think.
